About SOP4Stress
Practical resilience for people working where stress comes with the job.
SOP4Stress grew from a simple problem: first responders receive extensive training for the emergency in front of them, but often far less preparation for the cumulative effects of doing the work year after year.
Why this resource exists
SOP4Stress is built to close the gap between knowing that stress matters and having practical ways to respond to it. The focus is not on eliminating stress or pretending difficult work can be made easy. It is on recognizing patterns earlier, recovering more deliberately, improving communication, choosing healthier coping strategies, and creating teams and organizations that do not add unnecessary pressure.
About Jacque Gibson
Jacque Gibson is the author of S.O.P. 4 STRESS: A Tactical Guide to Resilience for First Responders. The book and this website are informed by experience in emergency services and a commitment to making stress-management and resilience conversations more practical, relevant, and usable for the people doing the work.
The approach
SOP4Stress treats resilience as both an individual and organizational responsibility. Responders need practical skills and healthy options. Leaders need clearer ways to support personnel. Departments need systems that reinforce wellbeing instead of relying on slogans. Families need language for understanding how the job can affect life at home.
